60 days until Oregon high school football season: One number for each day as we count down to kickoff 2023

SBLive Oregon gives you one significant number per day as we mark the days until high school football returns.

By Mike Wilson

The Oregon high school football season is scheduled to begin Thursday, Aug. 31 — 60 days from today. As we count down the days until kickoff, SBLive Oregon will give you one significant number per day.

60

Points scored by Oregon City in its OSAA Class 6A first-round playoff win over Grants Pass in 2018. The Pioneers are the only team to score exactly 60 points in an OSAA Class 6A, 5A or 4A playoff game in the past five seasons.

The Pioneers’ 60-35 win was the second of three meetings between the schools in two seasons (53 weeks, actually). Oregon City and Grants Pass opened that 2018 season against each other (Oregon City winning 64-41), and they faced off in the opener the season after their playoff meeting. The Pioneers won that game, too — 41-39, on a touchdown and two-point conversion with 39 seconds left.
