The high school sports season has wrapped up in Oregon, so SBLive Oregon is looking back at some of the best high school athletes of 2022-23.

Over the next week, we'll be highlighting some of the top players in all classifications in volleyball, soccer, football, basketball, softball and baseball.

Here is the SBLive Oregon all-state boys basketball team.

First team

G Jalen Atkins, Barlow, sophomore

Atkins won Mt. Hood Conference player of the year honors in leading the Bruins to an undefeated MHC season and a fifth-place finish at the 6A state tournament. He averaged 24 points and 3.5 assists while shooting 50% from three-point range.

F Brayden Boe, Mountainside, sophomore

Coming off a solid season on the gridiron, Boe stepped on the hardwood and showed why he’s one of the state’s top prospects in the class of 2025. Coaches named him Metro League player of the year as he averaged 17 points, six rebounds and five assists in leading the Mavericks to a share of the league title and a return trip to the 6A state tournament.

F Pearson Carmichael, Summit, junior

The Boise State commit won Intermountain Conference and 5A player of the year honors for the Storm, almost averaging a double-double (23.5 points, 9.2 rebounds) while shooting 65% from the field and 40% from three-point range, leading them to the state final.

G Josiah Lake, Tualatin, senior

Lake accepted a preferred walk-on offer from Oregon State after a banner senior season in which the first-team all-Three Rivers selection averaged 25.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.7 steals. Most important, he won a second consecutive 6A state championship, scoring 20 points in the Timberwolves’ final win over No. 1 West Linn.

G Jackson Shelstad, West Linn, senior

The University of Oregon signee and Nike Hoop Summit selection achieved almost everything a high school player can during his final season. The two-time Gatorade player of the year averaged 28.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.9 steals, led the Lions to titles at the Capitol City Classic and Les Schwab Invitational, and took them to the 6A state final, where they lost to Three Rivers League rival Tualatin.

The 2006 Tualatin graduate took over for Jukkala this winter and built upon the foundation they created, capping the season with a masterful run through the state playoffs that ended with a second consecutive 6A title.
