Cascade Christian volleyball 

The Challengers scored a 25-21, 25-13, 25-11 home win over St. Mary’s of Medford to finish their Far West League schedule at a perfect 10-0. Cascade Christian, which upped its season record to 20-4 with the victory, got eight kills from senior outside hitter Maddie Todd and 11 kills from senior setter Molly Griffin in the win.

Cleveland girls soccer

The Warriors, who have a strong group of seniors, celebrated that group, which has been part of the program for the past four years, by scoring a 5-1 win over Ida B. Wells in a Portland Interscholastic League game played on Senior Night at Cleveland High School. The victory gives the Warriors a 3-0-2 record in PIL play, and an overall mark of 10-1-3. The Cleveland seniors include Mason Bregoli, Madeline Jamison, Elise Koehler, Sarah Pender, Jaidyn Richter, June Healy, Amalia Galm, Evangeline Miller, Gillian Taylor, Lucy Weinberg and team manager Evan Burke-Doyle.

Corbett volleyball

The Cardinals posted a 25-17, 25-23, 25-23 victory at Warrenton in a Coastal Range League finale to claim sole possession of the league title with an 11-1 record (16-5 overall). Warrenton finished second in the league standings at 9-3.

Cottage Grove boys soccer

The Lions, getting goals from senior Eli Williams and junior Tristyn Burnes, rallied back twice in the final 10 minutes of play to tie Marist Catholic 2-2 in a Sky Em League finale played at Marist Catholic. With the tie, Cottage Grove topped the final league standings at 7-0-1 (11-2-1 overall), giving the Lions their first league title since 2017.

Henley football

The Hornets bested Mazama 42-14 in a huge Class 4A Special District 4 contest played at Mazama High School. With the win, Henley improved to 5-0 in district play, and to 8-0 for the season. Mazama moved to 4-1 in district games, and to 6-2 on the season. Senior running back Logan Whitlock helped lead the Hornets to the big win, rushing for 80 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 13 carries, while also throwing a TD pass.

Jesuit football

The Crusaders scored a 31-14 win over Mountainside in a Metro League showdown played at Mountainside High School, clinching at least a share of their 10th straight league crown. Jesuit improved to 4-0 in league tilts, and to 4-4 on the season, with the victory. Senior running back Lonnie Burt had 23 carries for 133 yards and a touchdown to help lead the Crusaders to the win.

Klamath Union girls cross country

The Pelicans came out on top in a closely contested battle, triumphing at the Umpqua Invitational, held at Stewart Park in Roseburg. Klamath Union had a team score of 113 points to take first place in the 19-team event. Grants Pass was second at 136 and Oregon City was third at 138. Senior Isabela Coffman had the top individual finish for the Pelicans, running to fourth place in the 5,000-meter race in a time of 19 minutes, 33.1 seconds.

La Grande girls cross country

The Tigers turned in an impressive performance in claiming victory at the Kyle Burnside Memorial Invite, held at Birch Creek Golf Course in Pendleton. La Grande, which had a team score of 30 points, had the top four finishers in the race, led by junior Cecilia Villagomez, who triumphed with a time of 18 minutes, 36.6 seconds for the 5,000-meter course.

La Salle Prep football

The Falcons soared to a 38-0 win over The Dalles in a Class 4A Special District 2 game played at La Salle Prep. The victory upped La Salle Prep’s district record to 4-0 (7-1 overall), giving the Falcons their first league crown since 2012. Senior tight end Grant Ellison had both a touchdown run and a touchdown catch for La Salle Prep in the victory.

Marist Catholic girls soccer

The Spartans wrapped up a perfect 8-0 Sky Em League season in a big way, downing Cottage Grove 12-0 in a league finale played at Marist Catholic High School. The victory gives the Spartans a 14-0 season record and a 30-match winning streak, going back to the 2022 season. A big key for Marist Catholic has been its defense, including sophomore defensive winger Ava Snyder, sophomore center backs Piper Paslay and Sadey Woodrum, junior outside back Kate Firth, sophomore outside back Gina Schroffner, junior defensive midfielder Ella Braunger, freshman defensive midfielder Tori Sherman and sophomore goalkeeper Emily Meigs.

Mountain View football

The Cougars scored a 21-6 win at Summit to claim sole possession of first place in the Intermountain Conference standings at 4-0, while also improving to 8-0 on the season. Sophomore running back Angel Valenzuela rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns while also throwing a TD pass for Mountain View in the victory.

Pacific/Bandon boys soccer

The Pirates posted a 5-1 win over Sutherlin in a Class 3A/2A/1A Special District 4 finale, giving the team a perfect 12-0 mark (13-1 overall) in district play. Senior forward Daniel Withers scored four goals for Pacific/Bandon in the victory.

Pendleton volleyball

The Buckaroos posted a 25-19, 25-16, 20-25, 25-22 win at La Grande to wrap up a perfect 6-0 (13-8 overall) slate in Greater Oregon League play. The league title was the first for Pendleton since 2014. Junior Josie Jenness had 38 assists and four aces for the Buckaroos in the victory.

Philomath boys cross country

The Warriors ran to victory at the Harrisburg Gatorade Challenge, held at Harrisburg High School. Philomath finished in first place in the 10-team meet with a score of 49 points, edging second-place Monroe, which had a score of 56. Sophomore Leo Pausch help lead the Warriors to the victory, as he was the individual runner-up in the 5,000-meter race in a time of 17 minutes, 34.5 seconds.

Powers football

The Cruisers picked up a 26-19 home win over Elkton in a Class 1A 6-man Special District 2 South showdown to improve to 7-0 in district play and to 8-0 on the season. Junior Patrick Mahmoud and senior Charlie Shorb each scored a pair of touchdowns for Powers in the victory.

Santiam Christian volleyball

The Eagles rallied back from an 8-0 fifth-set deficit to get a 26-24, 20-25, 21-25, 25-17, 15-12 win at Dayton in a PacWest Conference finale. With the victory, Santiam Christian finished its league schedule with a perfect 12-0 record.

Stayton boys soccer

The Eagles posted a 1-0 win over Newport to improve to 7-0-2 (10-1-2 overall) in Oregon West Conference play, wrapping up the conference title. Senior forward Ismael Esparza scored the only goal of the match for Stayton.

Roseburg boys cross country

The Indians edged Crater by just two points, 112-114, to earn first place in the 24-team Umpqua Invitational, held at Stewart Park in Roseburg. Senior Timothy Johnson led the way for the Indians, running to third place, individually, in the 5,000-meter race in a time of 15 minutes, 54.80 seconds.

Union boys cross country

The Bobcats ran to victory at the Kyle Burnside Memorial Invite, held at Birch Creek Golf Course in Pendleton. Union claimed the top spot at the 11-team event with a score of 50 points. Baker was second at 73. Union also had the individual winner of the race in senior Eli Williams, who triumphed with a time of 16 minutes, 38.5 seconds for the 5,000-meter course.

Ida B. Wells football

The Guardians moved into position to wrap up sole possession of the Portland Interscholastic League championship by beating Roosevelt 36-8 in a league showdown played at Roosevelt High School. Ida B. Wells moved to 6-0 in PIL play, and to 7-1 on the season, with the victory. Junior fullback Wyatt Andler helped lead the way for the Guardians in the victory, running for 153 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries.

Westside Christian boys soccer

The Eagles scored a 3-2 win at Oregon Episcopal School in a regular season finale to clinch the Class 3A/2A/1A Special District 1 championship at 7-1 (13-1 overall). It was Westside Christian’s first league title since 1996. The Eagles trailed OES 2-1 at halftime of the contest, but got the equalizer when senior Brady Housley scored off an assist by sophomore Adrian Vidican. Housley then assisted on the winning goal by senior Noah Rau, coming with 40 seconds left to play in the match.

West Linn girls soccer

The Lions scored a 4-0 win over Tualatin in a Three Rivers League match played at West Linn High School to wrap up the league title at 4-0-1 (9-2-2 overall). Sophomore Kylee Schreck scored a pair of goals for West Linn in the title-clinching victory.
