Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Pennsylvania high school athlete of the week for May 7-13. Read through the nominees and cast your vote. Katie Armstrong, Burrell softball

In a 3-1 win over Deer Lakes, she went the distance and allowed just a pair of hits while striking out 13 hitters.

Beau Bigam, Connellsville baseball

Tossed a complete game one-hitter and struck out 14 hitters as the Falcons defeated Uniontown 4-1.

Andrew Bredel, Burgettstown baseball

In an 8-0 win over Frazier, he went the distance and allowed just one hit while striking out 14 hitters.

Luke Brown, Erie Cathedral Prep track and field

In a dual meet against McDowell, he was a four-time winner as he took home the top spot at 800 meters, 1,600 meters and 3,200 meters and was on the 3,200-meter relay team. His time of 1:57.51 in the 800 set a new school record.

Bailey Cannon, General McLane softball

Tossed a pair of two-hit shutouts this week. She struck out 13 hitters in an 8-0 win over Erie High and had 14 strikeouts in a 1-0 win over McDowell.

JD Costanzo, North Allegheny baseball

Threw six shutout innings and allowed just a pair of hits while striking out 15 batters in a 7-0 win over Trinity.

Alayna Cipolla, Blackhawk girls lacrosse

Netted the 100th goal of her career in a 21-3 win over Knoch. She finished the game with four goals.

Luke Costello, Cathedral Prep baseball

Struck out 14 batters in a three-hit 8-0 shutout win over General McLane.

Lexie Hames, Seneca Valley softball

It was another strong week for the sophomore hurler. She tossed a no-hitter with 20 strikeouts on Tuesday in a 1-0 win over North Allegheny. She backed that up on Thursday with a one-hitter and 18 strikeouts in a 3-0 win over Hempfield Area. She also provided the offense with a three-run homer.

Adam Hess, Hempfield Area baseball

In an 11-0 win over Norwin, he provided more than half the offense by hitting a pair of home runs and driving in six.

Grace Kissick, Laurel softball

Threw a four-hit shutout with 16 strikeouts in a 4-0 win over Riverside.

Jordyn Klingensmith, Armstrong softball

Ended the game with a walk-off grand slam as the River Hawks defeated Pine-Richland 10-6.

Nick Krahe, Harbor Creek track and field

Won two throwing events at the Erie County Classic, with a meet record of 55 feet, 7 ½ inches in the shot put competition.

Owen Ostrowski, Canon-McMillan boys volleyball

In a four-set win over Upper St. Clair, he finished with 26 kills and five aces.

Lucy Roig, Quaker Valley girls lacrosse

Found the net six times in a 13-9 win over North Hills. 

Maranda Runco, Mid Valley softball

In an 11-0 win over Holy Cross, she was 3-for-4 with three homers and eight RBIs.

Wesley Schrock, Valley baseball

Threw a three-hitter with 15 strikeouts when Valley defeated Brownsville 5-2.

Rachael Schumann, Downingtown East softball

Struck out 20 batters and allowed just three hits in a 6-0 shutout win over Unionville.

David Shields, Mt. Lebanon baseball

Hurled a six-inning no-hitter in a 12-0 win over Baldwin and struck out 15 hitters.

Braden Zeigler, Shenango baseball

In a win over Ellwood City, he was 3-for-4 with a double, a homer and five RBIs.
