Bishop McDevitt defeats Cedar Cliff to remain unbeaten

Stone Saunders threw five touchdown passes for Bishop McDevitt

Bishop McDevitt's high-powered offense was at it again on Friday night in a 48-7 win over Cedar Cliff.

Bishop McDevitt, the No. 3 team in this week’s SBLive Pennsylvania Power 25, had been averaging nearly 54 points per game in its last three games and nearly equaled that Friday night.

Quarterback Stone Saunders, a Kentucky commit, threw for 251 yards and five touchdowns, while missing on just two of his 15 pass attempts.

Wide receiver Rico Scott, an Alabama commit, scored the first two touchdowns of the game for the Crusaders. He scored on an 80-yard touchdown run just seconds into the game and then caught a 6-yard pass from Saunders later in the first quarter.

Chase Regan led the Crusaders with 126 yards receiving on five catches and scored a pair of touchdowns, while Nevan Hopkins had three catches for 70 yards and a score.
