Southern Columbia pulled away in the third quarter for the victory

Southern Columbia showed why it keeps moving up the SBLive Pennsylvania Power 25 with a 40-17 win over Danville.

Southern Columbia, ranked No. 14 in the SBLive Pennsylvania Power 25, led by 10 at halftime and then scored three times in the third quarter to pull away.

Carter Madden started the third quarter scoring with a 3-yard touchdown to run to stretch the lead to 24-7.

After an 83-yard touchdown pass for Danville from Carter Raup to Cameron Kiersch, Louden Murphy returned the ensuing kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown to make the lead 17 again. It was the second score of the game for Murphy, who opened the game with a 4-yard touchdown run.

Just 15 seconds later, Brayden Andrews was in the end zone after a 35-yard interception return to give the Tigers a 38-14 lead.

Murphy led the Tigers with 93 yards rushing, Garrett Garcia had 92 yards and Madden added 38 yards and two scores.
