Class of 2022 three-star quarterback Marcus Sanders spent his birthday weekend in Eugene visiting the Oregon Ducks.

On Sunday - his birthday - the 6-foot-6, 205-pound signal-caller, out of James Logan High School (Union City, California), announced his commitment to the University of Oregon as a preferred walk-on.

For Sanders, the opportunity to play for the Ducks was a dream come true.

"I grew up watching Marcus Mariota, then went on to watch Justin Herbert," he said. "I’ve pretty much been an Oregon fan ever since I started watching college football. I always wanted to play at the school they played at, which is the prestigious University of Oregon."

But it wasn't until this weekend that Sanders felt comfortable with the new coaching staff and was sure he was making the right choice for himself.

"Oregon was my dream school growing up," he said. "After meeting all the coaches and learning about the program they wanted to built, I felt that this was the best and most comfortable fit for me."

Sanders is a 247Sports three-star prospect who took official visits to California, Nevada, San Diego and San Jose State.

He is rated the nation's No. 173 signal-caller
