Cardinal Gibbons High School quarterback Dylan Rizk has already accomplished big things in his home state of Florida.

Hoping to add to that legacy, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound signal-caller announced his commitment to the University of Central Florida on Thursday, choosing the Knights over offer from Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan State, Northwestern and South Florida:

As a junior, Rizk guided Cardinal Gibbons to a Florida 4A state championship, accumulating 1,971 yards and 17 touchdowns passing with an additional 456 yards and eight scores on the ground.

The Florida dual-threat quarterback's pledge will allow him to add to his in-state legacy, something in which he takes great pride.

"It means more than the world to me," Rizk said. "I’m playing in the state I love."

While his verbal commitment was publicly announced Thursday, he admitted he has had a pretty good idea that he was headed to UCF for some time.

"I was ready to commit after narrowing down my list," Rizk explained. "I’ve been narrowing down my list for about 2 months. What stood out was the coaching staff - really good and genuine people."

Rizk is the sixth pledge for UCF in the 2023 recruiting class and the third from the state of Florida, joining Lakewood four-star edge-rusher Isaiah Nixon and Apopka edge-rusher Kaven Call.
