The Florida Gators appear poised to land a key in-state commitment Monday, as Rockledge High School offensive tackle Bryce Lovett is planning to announce his commitment on his birthday, May 16.

Set for a 11:50 a.m. ET/8:50 A.M. PT decision, the 6-foot-5, 330-pound lineman has a final four of Florida, Iowa State, Louisville and Missouri.

Prediction: Lovett to Florida

Lovett has taken visits to Florida and Iowa State, and helped move his brother, Zach Lovett, into Missouri, so he's got interesting ties to multiple programs.

But following a recent return trip to Florida, the in-state lineman had high praise for both the staff and the culture in Gainesville.

"I like the relationship I have with the whole coaching staff," he said. "They are all cool. We've been talking since before they offered me. The relationship has been there."

"I've been up there a couple of times, and every time I've been up there it's cool. I like what they are doing and what the new coaching staff has planned for the program. I like how they run practice. I like what they are doing for the players on and off the field. It's pretty how how they are all coming together and changing the program."

Lovett has previously stated he never intended on going to college in the state of Florida, specifically, but the Gators appear poised to win the battle for his services regardless.

While he is a three-star prospect, the Florida lineman has double-digit offers - from all four of his finalists plus Arkansas, Kentucky, South Florida, West Virginia and others.

Florida's 2023 recruiting class currently consists of four pledges, highlighted by IMG Academy four-star offensive lineman Knijeah Harris and Trinity Christian School (Georgia) four-star athlete Aaron Gates
