Landen Hatchett, coveted Ferndale offensive lineman, trims list to 5

Ferndale High School interior offensive line prospect Landen Hatchett is one of the most coveted prospects in the state of Washington. 

The 6-foot-3, 295-pound prospect has racked up double-digit offers from some of the biggest college football programs in the country.

On Thursday, Hatchett took a major step forward in his recruitment, trimming his list to a top five of Michigan, Oregon, Texas A&M, USC and Washington:

That cut eliminated offers from programs such as Arizona State, Colorado, Miami (Fla.), Oklahoma, Washington State and several others.

Hatchett, one of the nation's top center prospects, is rated a three-star talent and the nation's No. 25 interior offensive lineman, but he could easily add a fourth star as his recruitment fully takes shape.

According to 247Sports, Hatchett has been a standout on the camp circuit in recent months, earning MVP honors at both National Preps Champion Showcase and the 5v5 Lineman Competition.

Hatchett is the younger brother of Washington lineman Geirean Hatchett, so his ties to the Husky program run deep.

But he's also clearly going through his own recruitment.

And five schools remain in the mix.
