Pittsburg High School (California) five-star quarterback Jaden Rashada is one step closer to making his college decision.

After teasing a mysterious Tuesday announcement earlier in the week, Rashada set a commitment date of June 18 and trimmed his list to a final seven of California, Florida, LSU, Miami (Fla.), Ole Miss, Oregon, Texas A&M:

Fresh off an Oregon visit, some Duck fans had hoped the announcement would be an Oregon commitment.

But that seemed unlikely and was not, in fact, the case.

Rashada gave 247Sports national recruiting editor Brandon Huffman a detailed look at each of his finalists and had good things to say about the Ducks.

"They have great people in the building and that made the experience one to remember," he said. "What stood out most was the staff and the culture there. Coach (Kenny) Dillingham and I have a great relationship and we both believe we can do great things up there. I talk mostly with coach Dillingham but a lot with coach (Dan) Lanning, but mainly coach Dillingham and I talk on a regular basis."

Rashada is rated the nation's No. 29 overall prospect and No. 5 quarterback
