Amador Valley High School (California) three-star edge-rusher Brady Nassar took his first official visit to Oregon State University over the weekend.

And it couldn't have gone much better for the 6-foot-5, 240-pound defensive end/outside linebacker.

"First of all, it was amazing - great people, great place," Nassar said. "I loved every minute of it. It was my first official visit, so it was a really cool experience. I didn't really know what I was getting into. I walked into the hotel room and was like, 'Woah, there are pictures of me in here.' It was all pretty amazing. I've never had an experience like that before."

As the trip went on, the awe and excitement of his first visit gave way to a deep connection to the coaching staff and the program.

"I loved it there," Nassar said. "I love every person working for the staff, I love the town, I love the team. I think they are on the brink of being one of the best teams in the Pac-12 for years to come, and I think I could make a big impact in making that a reality. I love it there. What I left with is that it's a place where I have no complaints and there are no cons going there. It's all pros, it's all positive and good things out of that school."

Beyond the stellar visit, the California product was equally enamored with Oregon State's on-field plan for him in its defense.

"I love their style of defense," he said. "It's pressure-oriented, it's fast-paced, it's 'get in the backfield, make plays and the linebackers make you right.' It's all centered around the defensive ends thinking less and playing faster. That's what I love."

Asked to summarize the visit, Nassar gave a quick response that captured his feelings about the Beavers.

"At the end of the day, it's the people that make the place and that place has great people in it," he said.

Nassar's recruitment isn't over yet, though.

The nation's No. 42 edge-rusher is currently working with Army, California and San Diego State to set up official visits.

"I'd like to make all three, but we'll see on my schedule," he said. "I'm working on a plan right now. I love all three of those schools, and I haven't gotten the experience of visiting those other schools to compare yet."

Regardless of what Nassar winds up adding to the schedule, it's clear Oregon State has established itself as a major contender for his commitment.
