Following Alabama coach Nick Saban's comments Wednesday accusing Texas A&M of buying 'every player' in its historic recruiting class, the gloves have come off.

During a news conference Thursday, Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher responded to Saban's comments, calling him a "narcissistic," his comments "despicable" and emphasizing that "nothing was done wrong" atTexas A&M.

"First of all, I'll say it's a shame that we have to do this," Fisher said in a news conference. "It's really despicable. It's despicable that somebody can say something about somebody, more importantly 17-year-old kids. You're taking shots at 17-year-old kids and their families, that they broke state laws. That we bought every player in this group. We never bought anybody. No rules were broken. Nothing was done wrong. The way we do things, the ethics in which we do things... and these families... It's despicable that a reputable head coach can come out and say this when he doesn't get his way or things don't go his way,. The narcissistic in him doesn't allow those things to happen. It's ridiculous, when he's not on top."

During the 2022 recruiting cycle, Texas A&M signed the highest-rated recruiting class in modern recruiting rankings history, while Alabama finished second.

The Aggies class was assembled amid loud speculation and rumors that they paid an eight-figure sum - more than $10,000,000 - in NIL deals to make it happen.

The NCAA is reportedly setting up a task force to look into improper NIL conduct, which many in the college football world believe is rampant in the new era of college football.

Alabama and Texas A&M will face one another on the football field October 8.
