Fort Bend Marshall High School (Texas) three-star defensive lineman Zachary Chapman has compiled double-digit scholarship offers.

Baylor, Boston College, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Houston, Mississippi State, Purdue, Texas Tech and many others extended an offer hoping to snag the commitment of the 6-foot-5, 250-pound defensive playmaker.

But on Tuesday, following an official visit to TCU, Chapman put an early end to the process, committing to the Horned Frogs with an interesting message.

"Time to get freaky," he wrote.

"They felt like a family to me, and after going on the visit it just felt like it was the home for me," he said. "I was ready to commit and felt the love from the coaching staff and the fanbase. All of the coaches were transparent with me. They felt very real and very genuine. It was heartfelt."

TCU said he can play anywhere along the defensive line, sending the message that he is a versatile piece up front who will be able to compete for playing time along the entire line.

Chapman is the sixth commitment in TCU's 2023 recruiting class, joining five other in-state pledges - North Mesquite wide receiver Cordale Russell, Melissa offensive tackle Trevor Goosby, Ryan wide receiver Jordan Bailey, Gilmer athlete Rohan Fluellen and South Oak Cliff interior offensive lineman Brione Ramsey-Brooks.
