After signing the nation's No. 5 recruiting class in the 2022 recruiting cycle, the Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball program was hoping to make a big splash with its first 2023 pledge.

Villages Charter School (Florida) power forward Sam Walters certainly fits the bill.

Rated the nation's No. 27 overall prospect by Rivals and a top-100 prospect in the 247Sports composite rankings, the 6-foot-9, 190-pound playmaker announced his commitment to Alabama on Friday morning:

Walters chose the Crimson Tide over offers from Florida, Georgetown, LSU, Ole Miss and others.

In terms of his on-court attributes, he should bring a lot to the court for the Crimson Tide.

"I am pretty versatile," Walters told Rivals. "I can hit threes, play defense, guard multiple positions. I would probably say shooting is my best attribute, though."

He will join a program that recently signed one of the nation's top recruiting classes, a group that included Tennessee five-star small forward Brandon Miller, Florida five-star point guard Jaden Bradley, Texas four-star shooting guard Rylan Griffen, South Carolina power forward Noah Clowney and junior college star Nick Pringle.
