Pay no attention to the star rating when it comes to Bridgeland High School (Texas) tight end Reid Mikeska.

Listed as a three-star recruit by 247Sports, the 6-foot-6, 233-pound pass-catcher has accumulated more than 40 scholarship offers, making him one of the nation's most coveted tight end prospects.

A former Clemson pledge, Mikeska's offer sheet is highlighted by Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Miami (Fla.), Oklahoma, Oregon and many others.

Already high on Oklahoma before taking last weekend's official visit to Norman, Mikeska loved his trip.

"I definitely had pretty high expectations and the visit definitely met them," he said. "It was just a really well put together event. I had a great time being around the staff and the other recruits."

Mikeska also indicated that Oklahoma's proximity to home was an added bonus.

Prediction" Reid Mikeska to Oklahoma Sooners

Although Mikeska has official visits to both Miami (June 10) and Florida (June 17) this month, I still feel comfortable making this prediction.

Why?

Mikeska said he isn't planning on scheduling any more official visits after he completes his current three and definitely intends to announce a commitment soon.

"It'll be this summer," he said. "It'll be done with this summer."

It's possible Miami or Florida absolutely delivers with a home-run visit, particularly the Hurricanes, but Mikeska entered his Oklahoma official visit already quite high on the Sooners.

The visit only helped that.

Throw in distance from home as a final (albeit small) factor and it sure seems like "Mikeska to Oklahoma" Is destined to happen by summer's end.
