Andre Piper-Jordan Jr., Federal Way 3-star cornerback, down to Arizona, Oregon State, planning summer commitment

Federal Way High School (Washington) cornerback Andre Piper-Jordan Jr. holds offers from Arizona, Oregon, Oregon State, Virginia Tech and others.

His list, as of late, is growing.

But the 6-foot-1, 170-pound defensive back is getting close to shutting things down.

Following an official visit to Oregon State, Piper-Jordan said he may schedule an official visit to Arizona, then make a summer commitment.

"I'll probably make a decision (after that)," he said. "I just want to take both of those visits and see." 

Piper-Jordan later clarified that he hasn't yet set an official visit to Arizona and a trip is still up in the air.

As for Oregon State, the Washington product had high praise for the coaching staff. 

"It was great," he said. "I had fun. I really liked how the coaches treated me. That stood out. They were very personable and treated me like a priority - both." 

Analysis

Piper-Jordan is rated the nation's No. 43 cornerback and is still developing his skillset.

However, he has a high ceiling and could develop into a big-time cornerback down the road.

That makes him almost exactly Oregon State's prototypical outside cornerback target, the type of player Jonathan Smith's staff has coveted and cultivated during his tenure.

It remains to be seen whether or not Piper-Jordan will become the latest addition to that tradition, but the Beavers clearly made an impression over the weekend.
