Brycen Sanders, nation's No. 8 interior offensive lineman, commits to Ole Miss over Tennessee, others

In March, Baylor School (Tennessee) offensive lineman Brycen Sanders trimmed his list to a final four of LSU, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Tennessee, knowing all along his plan was to commit in June.

Ole Miss received the first official visit in early April, several weeks before trips to Tennessee (May 27) and Oklahoma (June 3).

That left plenty of time for Sanders to cool on the Rebels.

But the 6-foot-5, 280-pound prospect, rated the nation's No. 8 interior offensive lineman, never did.

He kept comparing every other school to Ole Miss - and none stacked up.

"My last visit was the official visit in April," Sanders said. "When I visited I just felt really comfortable on the campus, around the coaches and around the other players. They set a bar high that no other school could reach." 

On Monday, Sanders ended his recruitment, announcing his commitment to Ole Miss on social media:

"They’ve made me a big priority for a while and I have a great relationship with the coaching staff," he said. "I felt super comfortable in Oxford and on the Ole Miss campus, and I’ll have a chance to come in early and help the team." 

While Sanders has not formally set a plan, he intends to try to enroll early to get a jump start on his college career. 

"There’s a good chance I will, but nothing is 100 percent yet," he said.

Sanders is the fourth commitment in the 2023 recruiting class, joining Mississippi four-star athlete Suntarine Perkins, Tennessee three-star quarterback Marcel Reed and Texas three-star safety Daniel Demery.
