>>> UPDATE: Landen Hatchett, one of nation's top centers, commits to Washington Huskies

There's been a flurry of college football commitments across the country in the past week, but few programs are hotter than the Washington Huskies.

Since June 20, Washington has added eight pledges to its 2023 recruiting class.

And Kalen DeBoer and his coaching staff are set to add to that total shortly.

Prediction: 2 more commitments coming for Washington

Admittedly, there may be even more.

However, it seems quite clear that both Ferdale center prospect Landen Hatchett, one of the nation's top players at his position, and California three-star cornerback Leroy Bryant are near-locks.

Hatchett, the younger brother of Geirean Hatchett, has taken all five of his official visits, and while he has not yet set a commitment date, a decision is expected imminently.

All along, Washington has been the team to beat and Hatchett's four other official visits never seemed to shift that momentum.

Despite being a three-star prospect, Hatchett would be a major "get" for the Huskies, as he is one of of the top true center prospects in America and comes from the home state.

As for Bryant, he's fresh off his first official visit to Washington, doesn't have any other OVs scheduled and recently indicated he is nearing a commitment.

He also had high praise for his recent trip to Seattle.

"We stayed in a nice hotel, we went to dinner and it was good," he said. "There were a lot of people there, like people with a lot of connections. The mayor was at dinner. It was a chance to make a lot of connections."

"The weather on Saturday was nice and we went out on the yacht to dinner - crab, lobster - it was a really good time. They did a really good job on their official visit. That's why they've got so many commits, I feel like."

Hatchett seems like the most likely recruit to "pop" soon, but I expect both players will wear purple and gold at the collegiate level.
