After a whirlwind month of June on the recruiting trail, Carver High School (Georgia) four-star defensive lineman Darron Reed made a decision.

On Monday, the 6-foot-4, 270-pound defensive end announced his commitment to LSU, choosing the Tigers over Ohio State, as well as Auburn, Clemson and Miami:

Reed is rated the nation's No. 228 overall prospect and No. 34 defensive lineman by 247Sports, but is viewed entirely differently by another recruiting service.

On3 lists him as the nation's No. 29 overall prospect and No. 4 defensive lineman, narrowly missing five-star status.

He'll have a chance to show which ranking is more accurate over the course of his career in Baton Rogue.

LSU has nine pledges in its 2023 recruiting class, a group that jumps from No. 37 nationally to No. 28 with Reed added into the mix.
