The Baylor Bears football program has quietly assembled a top-10 recruiting class nationally, led by Dripping Springs High School (Texas) quarterback Austin Novosad.

On Monday, Baylor added another headliner to the class, as Lamar High School (Texas) offensive lineman Isaiah Robinson, the nation's No. 11 offensive tackle and No. 82 overall prospect, announced his commitment:

The 6-foot-7, 288-pound offensive lineman chose Baylor over fellow finalists Buffalo, California, LSU and Prairie View A&M, immediately establishing himself as the No. 1 offensive line pledge in program history.

"I'm committing to Baylor, because the more I thought about it, the more I realized I liked everything about it," Robinson said. "I didn't see a reason for me not to choose Baylor."

The in-state lineman took an official visit to Baylor on June 17 and was blown away, not only with the coaching staff but the city of Waco.

"What it came down to was my relationship with the coaches. My whole family loves coach (Eric) Mateos and coach (Dave) Aranda. The city of Waco itself has my kind of people. It's more my speed - not too fast, not too slow. It's somewhere I could see myself going to college without the football aspect."

Robinson let the Baylor coaching staff know ahead of time in a phone call full of excitement.

"They were really excited, because Baylor doesn't have many spots left, especially for O-linemen," he said. "Coach Mateos really wanted me, so making that phone call was really nice."
