Dante Moore, Oregon Ducks QB pledge, rises to nation's No. 2 overall prospect, behind only Arch Manning

Michigan five-star prospect Dante Moore is the highest-rated quarterback pledge in Oregon football program history

247Sports updated its class of 2023 national rankings, and newest Oregon Ducks quarterback commit Dante Moore made a significant jump.

Rated the nation's No. 8 overall prospect at the time of his commitment, Moore soared to No. 2 nationally, behind only Texas pledge Arch Manning.

Here's what 247Sports had to say about Moore's rise:

"The Detroit King quarterback standout's rise in the Top247 now sees him at No. 2 nationally with a very strong case for Arch Manning's No. 1 spot, something that was discussed at length numerous times leading up to Monday's release."

"Manning and Moore are Nos. 1 and 3 among the 14 Top247 quarterbacks in career pass attempts, providing extensive live game context. Manning is first in career completions, Moore second. Moore is No. 1 of the 14 QBs in passing yards, Manning is No. 2. And Moore and Manning reside at 1-2 in career TD passes. Moore is committed to Oregon."

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound signal-caller, out of Martin Luther King Jr. Senior High School (Detroit, Michigan), is one of two Oregon players to make a notable climb, as California wide receiver Jurrion Dickey added a fifth star.

Oregon's 2023 recruiting class is ranked No. 20 nationally, and is headlined by Moore, Dickey, Washington cornerback Caleb Presley and Texas wide receiver Ashton Cozart.
