College recruiting is in full swing as the college basketball evaluation period has come to a close and college football recruits are beginning to take campus visits again.

Not wasting any time, several big-time prospects have come of the board in the past few days.

Here's a look at the top recent recruiting stories:

- Prediction: Oregon Ducks poised to land bluechip defensive lineman

The 6-foot-5, 265-pound lineman, rated the nation's No. 300 overall prospect, is down to a final five of Florida, Miami, Michigan State, Oregon and Texas, but the Ducks have become the clear-cut favorite.

So, it is possible the Hurricanes finish No. 1?

It's a bad idea to bet against Mario Cristobal on the recruiting trail.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pound All-American Bowl selection is rated the nation's No. 26 overall prospect and held more than 40 scholarship offers.

Alabama's recruiting class jumps from No. 10 to No. 5 and has arguably the nation's top collection of defensive back talent 

- Washington Huskies pledge Landen Hatchett earns Under Armour All-American Game invitation 

"It means a ton," he said. "I’ve grown up seeing these big All-American games on TV and all you can do is wish you are in it one day. And now it’s no longer just a dream, it’s reality. Like we’ve talked about, I’m sometimes overlooked for being center specific and you don’t see a ton of three-star guys get invited to these, so I’m super grateful they see that I am good enough to play in this game."

Mbakwe, who projects as a future cornerback, is the top recruit in the state of Alabama and the third pledge for the Crimson Tide in the class of 2024.

- Washington 4-star OL Micah Banuelos commits to USC over Oregon, citing conference realignment 

"SC is the move. The Big Ten is different," he said. "For SC to come out of nowhere to join the Big Ten. It shows they have a lot in store for the program."

- All-American cornerback Jasiah Wagoner commits to Oklahoma Sooners, expects elite defensive in Norman

"I'm going to Oklahoma," he said. "When I went on a visit there with Coach Reg [Reggie Jones], we felt like it was the best fit for me. All of the coaches and people in the building make it a good place and they've got a great tradition."

- Ford Sports Performance's elite defensive back camp highlights Washington talent 

“We wanted to get the state of Washington’s top defensive back prospects and rising DBs on the field for the day,” FSP CEO Tracy Ford said. “We wanted to drill them - speed, agility and quickness and overall movement. The whole point of it is to make them tired and see how they compete and perform. Is there mind going to go before their body, or their body before their mind?”

The dynamic young athlete recently competed at Ford Sports Performance's elite defensive back event and blew away the coaches on hand, including FSP CEO Tracy Ford.

 - USC quarterback commit Malachi Nelson named nation's No. 1 prospect by ESPN
