The high school football season is nearly upon us, which means SBLive Sports is beginning to roll out its top 50 football teams in the state of California

On this week's "Recruiting with Andrew Nemec" on ESPN affiliate 1080 The FAN, SBLive Sports California reporter Connor Morrissette joined the show to discuss this year's Mater Dei-St. John Bosco matchup, as well as the California football players he's most excited to see this season.

In the class of 2023, that list was led by Los Alamitos athlete Makai Lemon, a USC commit, as well as Norco wide receiver Grant Gray (UCLA) and Mission Viejo wide receiver Mikey Matthews (uncommitted).

As for 2024, Morrissette said he's most excited to see St. John Bosco cornerback Marcelles Williams, Mater Dei quarterback Elijah Brown and St. John Bosco linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa

A 2025 playmaker to watch is Mater Dei running back Jordon Davison, who already holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, Texas A&M and USC.
