Tom Izzo got his man.

Xavier Booker, a 5-star power forward in the class of 2023, announced his commitment to Michigan State Saturday on Instagram. Booker is ranked as the top player in the class of 2023 by Rivals and the third-best player by 247Sports.

Booker, a 6-foot-11, 215-pound power forward, led Cathedral (Indianapolis) to the Indiana 4A boys basketball state championship in March. He averaged 12.5 points and 6.7 rebounds his junior season. He made a huge jump in the recruiting rankings after the season, skyrocketing from barely inside the Top 100 to the top of the class.

Booker chose Izzo and Michigan State over Gonzaga, Oregon, Indiana, Michigan, Purdue, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Auburn and Cincinnati.

"It was a long process, being able to build relationships with coaches and going on visits and everything. So it was definitely a lot of fun, for sure," Booker said Saturday on Instagram. "After I released (my top 10) on Monday, me and my family had a long talk. And we kind of just it was just one school that stuck out the most."
