After finishing with the No. 1 class in modern recruiting history with a late surge last year, the Texas A&M Aggies have become a recruiting force in the NIL era.
So, when it was reported that El Campo (Texas) five-star running back and Louisville Cardinals pledge Rueben Owens was taking a visit to Texas A&M this weekend it certainly generated a lot of attention.
The 5-foot-11, 190-pound ball-carrier told SBLive Sports that he is "not going" on the visit and that the speculation was just "rumors."
However, Owens also posted on social media, "I'm not going no more" across a tweet reporting the trip.
So, it's possible there was a visit scheduled at one point.
Still, the clarification that Owens doesn't intend to take a visit to Texas A&M after all is good news for Louisville.
The Cardinals 2023 recruiting class is ranked No. 17 nationally and the unquestioned headliner of the group is Owens, who is also the No. 2 highest-rated pledge in program history (Michael Bush; 2003).
And for good reason.
As a junior, the Texas product rushed for 2,989 yards and 46 touchdowns on 248 carries, averaging a staggering 12.1 per touch.
