Picayune Memorial (Mississippi) running back Dante Dowdell didn't get much work Friday night during his team's 49-7 win.

Just nine carries.

But the 6-foot-2, 210-pound Oregon Ducks pledge made the most of them. 

Dowdell ran for 228 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 25.3 yards per carry and a touchdown every three touches.

Oregon's 2023 recruiting class is currently ranked No. 13 nationally and No. 1 in the Pac-12 Conference - just one spot ahead of the USC Trojans.

Dowdell committed to Oregon in May, choosing the Ducks over a group of finalists that included Arkansas, Ole Miss and Tennessee. 

As a junior, he rushed for 2,555 yards and 28 touchdowns.
