Greenville (South Carolina) four-star playmaker Mazeo Bennett is rated the nation's No. 220 overall prospect and No. 30 wide receiver in the class of 2024.

But his offer sheet may speak more accurately to his value on the recruiting trail.

The 6-foot, 165-pound pass-catcher holds nearly 20 scholarship offers from the nation's top programs.

On Saturday, Bennett trimmed his list to a final eight - Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina and Tennessee - and announced an October 16 commitment date:

As a sophomore, Bennett showed off his immense potential, hauling in 25 receptions for 661 yards and five scores, while also emerging as a key contributor at cornerback on defense and as a return man on special teams.

South Carolina, a program that has made him a priority for quite some time, may be the favorite.

“I feel it every time I call,” Bennett told On3. “Every time I go down there, I always feel the love. It’s real. If they’ve got me at the top of their board for receivers for the class of 24, I could definitely feel it.”

Still, other programs are also firmly in the mix.

Bennett has also taken unofficial visits to Clemson, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia Tech and others, and he posted a Tennessee graphic shortly after announcing his plans to commit later this month.

So, his commitment will be worth monitoring for multiple programs.
