Dante Dowdell, Oregon Ducks 4-star pledge, nominated for nation's best HS running back: Vote
Picayune High School (Mississippi) star and Oregon Ducks pledge Dante Dowdell is one of 20 nominees for the nation's best running back.
The 6-foot-1, 210-pound bruising runner has been stellar as a senior - twice delivering 98-yard touchdown runs and regularly breaking off long scoring plays this fall.
Here's what Dowdell's nomination said:
"The future Oregon Duck has been running all over competition in 2022. Ranked the No. 8 running back in his class, Dowdell has totaled 1,074 yards (10.6 yards per carry) and 13 scores through six games."
Oregon fans - and Dowdell fans - can vote for him here.
From a pure recruiting perspective, the Mississippi back is rated the nation's No. 9 ball-carrier on 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals.
Overall, Oregon's 2023 recruiting class is ranked No. 14 nationally and No. 2 in the Pac-12 Conference - one spot behind USC.
