Bryce Underwood, nation's No. 1 quarterback in 2025, visiting Michigan Wolverines this weekend

The state of Michigan has not-so-quietly become a frequent producer of elite quarterbacks in recent years.

In the class of 2023, Martin Luther King's Dante Moore (Oregon pledge) is a consensus five-star prospect and is firmly in the discussion as the nation's top overall prospect, while class of 2024 Saline star C.J. Carr (Notre Dame commit) is rated the nation's No. 4 quarterback. 

Unfortunately for both Michigan and Michigan State, so far neither has been able to reel in one of those elite quarterbacks.

Perhaps third time's a charm? 

In the class of 2025, Belleville High School's Bryce Underwood is rated the nation's No. 3 overall prospect and No. 1 quarterback.

Early in the process, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound signal-caller has expressed significant interest in both Michigan and Michigan State.

So, it's therefore noteworthy that Underwood has announced his intentions to visit Michigan for the this weekend's in-state rivalry contest against Michigan State:

While it's far too early to predict where Underwood will end up, this could be an important visit for him.

With early interest in both in-state programs a key win for either program with him on the sideline could bolster that schools chances slightly going forward.

Still, there's a lot of time left before he's ready to make any type of college decision.

"Ahead of his years physically and looks like he could be a senior or college player already. Has a strong arm with the ability to make throws to any part of the field. Throws a good deep ball and can use touch to give his receivers a chance to go make plays on the ball. Did an exceptional job of taking care of the ball as a freshman with 39 touchdowns to just four interceptions. Got rid of the ball quickly and was decisive with the ball for the most part. Very good athlete who honestly could be a high-level recruit on defense if he was not such a great quarterback. Uses those legs to escape the rush and extend plays. He looks to throw after escaping but can also take off and be dangerous as a runner."
