The Michigan State Spartans have put together a strong 2023 recruiting class, a 12-man group that ranks No. 24 nationally.

But they've also had some key departures. Four bluechip prospects have decommitted.

The latest came Thursday when New Caney High School (Texas) star Kedrick Reescano, the nation's No. 7 running back, announced he was re-opening his recruitment:

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound ball-carrier is rated the nation's No. 174 overall prospect and the No. 32 player in Texas.

Earlier this month, Reescano officially visited Ole Miss and Oklahoma State, and is reportedly taking an unofficial visit to Texas A&M this weekend.

However, when asked about his trip to College Station on Thursday, the dynamic running back wasn't sure if he would be able to make the trip.

It's something to monitor.

As a junior, Reescano rushed for 1,542 yards and 22 touchdowns in 11 games, but he's on pace to top those numbers soon.

This fall, he's totaled 1,200 yards and 22 scores in just eight games.

Here's what On3 had to say, in part, about Reescano as a prospect:

"Compact, strong runner with lateral agility and developing athleticism that points to a translatable skill set. Owns a stout, muscular build at around 5-foot-11, 190 pounds. Made a jump in on-field explosion from his junior to senior years. ...finished second in the state with a triple jump over 48 feet. Runs with burst and pace once at the second level.… Shows outstanding lateral agility with the ability to make defenders miss. ...Runs with a strong base. Bounces off defenders at the second level. Has the leg drive to run through arm tackles."
