Ron Holland, Duncanville 5-star power forward, down to Arkansas, Texas, UCLA

Duncanville High School (Texas) star Ron Holland is one of the best high school basketball players in America.

On Friday, the 6-foot-8, 195-pound five-star prospect officially trimmed his list to a final three of Arkansas, Texas and UCLA:

According to On3, the Texas star intends to announce his commitment "in a couple of weeks" and is no longer considering the G-League. 

Holland, who has already taken official visits to all three schools, is rated the nation's No. 10 overall prospect and No. 3 power forward, as well as the No. 1 player in the state of Texas. 

And he's more than delivered on that promise on the court.

Duncanville has won back-to-back Texas 6A state titles, while Holland contributed 16 points and eight rebounds per contest. 

So, where is he headed?

While Holland has remained tight-lipped on a possible favorite, the Longhorns are widely believed to be the favorites as his decision nears.

"He’s very athletic, not just vertically, but in the way he covers the floor, thrives in the open court, can move laterally, and his speed. While the term versatile defender gets thrown around easily these days, Holland actually embodies it. His overall skill-set needs to continue to develop, particularly as a handler where he can be guilty of trying to do too much, but there is a foundation to build off, even as a passer. He has to find a balance between competing with an edge and letting his emotions get the better of him, but when he’s playing with the motor that he showed during FIBA this summer, he’s extremely impactful."
