Julian Sayin, 5-star quarterback, ready to commit; Will it be Alabama, Georgia or LSU? (Prediction)

Class of 2024 Carlsbad High School (California) star Julian Sayin, the nation's No. 14 overall prospect and No. 2 quarterback, will announce his college commitment Wednesday.

Down to a final three of Alabama, Georgia and LSU, the 6-foot-1, 185-pound signal-caller will make his commitment at approximately 1:45 p.m. PT/4:45 p.m. ET on ESPN's "College Football Live."

While Sayin's recruitment was thought to be a battle between Georgia and LSU for some time, Alabama has surged late and hosted the California quarterback on a visit October 22.

So, where will it be?

Why Alabama?

A lot of things go into it.

First, I believe Georgia was trailing Alabama and LSU even before Sayin's final visit to Tuscaloosa.

The Bulldogs picked up a commitment from Ryan Puglisi earlier this month, and while Sayin is not afraid of competition he said the other two finalists have ensured him that they are aiming to take just one quarterback in their 2024 classes. 

"Those programs have talked about taking one - unless something crazy happens where they lose a bunch of guys," Sayin said. "They've both talked about just taking one. But it doesn't matter to me. I'd go somewhere where they took two and just compete. I'm not worried about that." 

I think it's possible Georgia knew it was trailing in the "Sayin sweepstakes" and pivoted.

So, LSU or Alabama? 

LSU may have held the lead up until the final visit, but the sense I got from Sayin after that trip was that he was pretty blown away by the Crimson Tide. 

"It was awesome," he said. "I had a great time. The game was a great atmosphere, and I just had a great weekend. I hadn't been for a game, so it was fun to see."

Alabama has prioritized Sayin as their go-to target at quarterback and they got the last visit.

"There's so much winning history there," the quarterback said before his trip. "They have 18 national championships. Coach (Nick) Saban, what he's done there and what a great coach he is, he's arguably the best coach of all-time. What's not to like about it?" 

I think the visit solidified those feelings.

For Sayin, I think it's "Roll Tide."
