Davhon Keys, 4-star Texas linebacker, receives Oregon Ducks offer, planning visit

Rivals four-star linebacker Davhon Keys plans to visit Oregon this spring

The Oregon Ducks signed six prospects from the state of Texas in the class of 2023 and are clearly working to build a pipeline to the talent-rich state.

Hoping to continue that trend in the class of 2024, Dan Lanning's program recently offered Aledo (Texas) linebacker Davhon Keys a back-to-back all-state performer:

Keys said he heard about the Oregon offer from his head coach, and it immediately made a big impression.

"It was huge," he said. "I was extremely excited to hear the news."

That's an encouraging reaction if you're an Oregon fan, as Keys already holds 20 scholarship offers, highlighted by Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Colorado, LSU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Penn State, TCU, Texas A&M and others.

The 6-foot, 215-pound 'backer, a Rivals four-star prospect, is already set to visit Eugene.

"I'm planning on visiting in April," he said. "They're a really great program with a lot of history developing NFL-caliber athletes. I'm excited to get the chance to learn more about the school as a whole."

As a prospect, Keys has already proven to be a highly-productive 'backer in a big-time defense, leading Aledo to a 5A Division I state championship while racking up 123 tackles, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

Overall, Oregon's 2024 recruiting class is ranked No. 8 nationally and is led by a pair of top-100 prospects at the wide receiver position - Roman Catholic (Pennsylvania) star Tyseer Denmark and Newport Harbor (California) playmaker Jordan Anderson.
