Dylan Raiola, nation's No. 1 prospect, visits Nebraska Cornhuskers, throws the bones at basketball game

Pinnacle (Arizona) quarterback Dylan Raiola, the nation's No. 1 overall prospect, took a visit to check out the Nebraska Cornhuskers over the weekend, a trip that included his attendance at a basketball game. 

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound signal-caller and son of Nebraska legend Dominic Raiola was quickly recognized by Nebraska fans, which led to chants of "Dy-lan, Dy-lan." 

Raiola responded by standing up, throwing the bones and clapping to the crowd:

Rated the nation's No. 1 overall prospect on 247Sports, Rivals, On3 and ESPN, the Arizona star is the consensus top overall prospect in America. 

Although Raiola originally committed to Ohio State, he decommitted in December and re-opened an intense battle for his services.

Georgia and Nebraska almost immediately became top contenders, while a January visit to Los Angeles propelled USC into the conversation as well. 

While any visit for Raiola is noteworthy, this weekend's trip to Lincoln came with added significance - and highlighted an interesting loophole in the NCAA rules.

Class of 2024 prospects are in the midst of a "dead period" until Tuesday, meaning they cannot have in-person contact with college coaches.

However, prospects can meet with family members who are on college coaching staffs.

Given that Dylan's uncle, Donovan Raiola, is the offense line coach at Nebraska, he was still able to visit and connect with at least one member of the Nebraska staff while taking an unofficial visit.

Raiola has not yet set a commitment date.
