KJ Bolden, nation's No. 2 overall prospect, has 'nothing but amazing' Arkansas visit; Alabama up next

Buford (Georgia) five-star athlete KJ Bolden had high praise for his Arkansas visit over the weekend

Over the weekend some of America's top high school football prospects took unofficial visit to check out their options.

For the Arkansas Razorbacks, it was a chance to impress Buford (Georgia) five-star athlete/safety KJ Bolden, the nation's No. 2 overall prospect.

The visit didn't disappoint.

"My visit has been nothing but amazing," Bolden said. "I’m enjoying everything Arkansas has to offer. The highlights so far has been the quality time I have been able to spend with coach (Sam) Pittman, coach (Marcus) Woodson, coach T-Will (Travis Williams), coach (Deron) Wilson and Coach Johnson.

Another highlight for Bolden was getting a chance to connect with current members of the team, particularly those with ties to home.

I have also been able to spend time with some of the current players from Atlanta that I’m really good friends with," he said. "I have enjoyed my time being around them and learning more about Arkansas."

So, will be make a return trip?

I am looking forward to my next visit," Bolden said.

Next up is a visit to Alabama this week, followed by trips to Auburn (March 17), Florida State (March 23), USC (April 15) and Oregon (April 29).

Bolden is eager to check out Tuscaloosa.

I am looking forward to being in Title Town and watching practice and seeing how Bama operates in the offseason," he said. "I am looking forward to building with the coaches and spending some time with coach (Nick) Saban."

It's still early in the recruitment of Bolden, but clearly he's a major recruiting prize with interest from all over the country.

Here's what 247Sports had to say, in part, about him as a prospect:

"A difference-maker on both sides of the ball that is known for his elite foot speed. ... Has been utilized as both a wide receiver and safety early on in prep career. More than capable of producing big gains whether that be via deep shots or quick screens/jet sweeps, but ceiling seems like it might ultimately be highest somewhere in the secondary given how he reads and reacts to what’s going on in front of him. Is quick to trigger and is always taking the right angles as he gets to his assignment. Does a nice job of putting his hip on a tight end or wideout and will fight through arms to make a play at the catch point. Understands how to highpoint a ball and doesn’t struggle to track the ball once it's in the air. Also isn’t one to shy away from contact and will lower his shoulder pad when needed. ...Likely to emerge as a safety that’s versatile enough to play center field on some downs, but can also get the job done in 1-on-1 coverage situations on others while also providing some value as a blitzer from time to time."
