Kur Teng commits to Michigan State; 4-star guard is Tom Izzo's first 2024 commit

The Bradford Christian Academy (Massachusetts) junior chose the Spartans over Auburn, Rutgers, Providence, Temple and others

Michigan State men's basketball coach Tom Izzo has landed his first class of 2024 recruit.

Four-star junior shooting guard Kur Teng announced his commitment to Michigan State on social media Monday:

Teng is ranked as the nation's No. 43 overall recruit, No. 12 shooting guard, and the No. 1 overall 2024 prospect in Massachusetts according to On3.

The 6-foot-6, 185-pound shooting guard chose the Spartans over Rutgers, Auburn, Providence, Temple, Miami and several other schools.

"I’ve learned how to play my style and still play harder. I have continued learning how to win and help my team win. I like watching Devin Booker a lot – how he gets to his buckets," Teng told On3’s Jamie Shaw on molding his game after Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker.
