Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State Buckeyes 5-star pledge, shuts down Miami Hurricanes fan: 'I'm not coming back on campus'

Jeremiah Smith took to Twitter to let it be known he is done with Miami

>>> Prediction: Ohio State Buckeyes to land major defensive prospect

Chaminade-Madonna Prep (Florida) five-star prospect Jeremiah Smith is the nation's No. 1 wide receiver.

The 6-foot-3, 198-pound pass-catcher has been committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes since December, but has been open about taking visits to check out other programs.

Going forward, however, the Miami Hurricanes will not be one of the programs involved in that process.

Smith tweeted (and deleted) a post regarding Miami that started a back-and-forth with fans and led to clarity on his stance on the Canes.

"You Miami fans full of it," Smith wrote.

When a fan responded to Smith in a negative manner, he put an end to the conversation.

"Facts, like don't even waste time," the fan wrote. "Like bruh if (you) not (interested in) Miami why still come on campus?"

"I'm not coming back on campus, 100," Smith responded in a quote tweet.

That's yet another piece of good news for Ohio State, a program experiencing a major hot streak on the recruiting trail.

In the past two weeks, the Buckeyes have landed St. Edward (Ohio) four-star offensive line duo - and twins - Deontae and Devontae Armstrong, elite Veterans Memorial (Texas) running back James Peoples, New Haven (Indiana) five-star wide receiver Mylan Graham and elite Langston Hughes (Georgia) quarterback Air Noland.

While Smith has obviously already been committed to Ohio State for several months, shutting down Miami, a school from Smith's home state and a national recruiting power in the NIL era, is a positive sign.

Expect Smith to be heavily pursued by the nation's top programs until he officially puts pen to paper.

Just don't anticipate Miami being a factor anymore.
