A closer look at Miles Heide: Dan Dickau's Starting 5

Mount Si (Washington) three-star center Miles Heide is headed to San Diego State

In the first edition of "Dan Dickau's Starting 5," SBLive Sports Vice President of basketball content Dan Dickau provided an in-depth look at five prospects from the Northwest.

Mount Si (Washington) three-star center Miles Heide is the No. 3 player in the state of Washington and the No. 31 center nationally.

But his best basketball may be ahead of him, especially at a place like San Diego State, which is known for developing its talent.

According to Mount Si's Jason Griffith, Heide has major upside as a prospect and is just beginning to scratch the surface of what he could be given his age (17).

“Miles has developed into a 6’9 230 pound athlete that can board, run the floor, alter shots, with an ever improving skill set. He has a rare combination of size and athleticism. He plays well above the rim on both ends. His ability to get up and down and rebound will translate very early in his college career.”

“Miles can go over either shoulder on the block, turn and face, or attack off the dribble. In the last year his perimeter shot took a step forward, which he shot over 40% this year form three."

"Miles is 17 years old and far from a finished product. San Diego State saw him as the player he is today and the player he will become. He has much upside as I have seen from a big from Washington in the past 10 - 15 years.”

Here's Dickau's thoughts on the Mount Si star:
