Could Oregon Ducks finish with their best-ever recruiting class? It's definitely in play

Oregon has the nation's No. 6 recruiting class, but remains in the mix for several 5-star prospects

After a whirlwind 48 hours last weekend, the Oregon Ducks' 2024 recruiting class climbed to No. 6 nationally, putting them well within striking distance of the best collection of talent in program history.

It began Saturday with St. Frances (Maryland) four-star quarterback Michael Van Buren and Durant (Oklahoma) four-star defensive lineman Xadavien Sims, then ended two days later with San Jacinto (California) four-star wide receiver Dillon Gresham.

But Oregon is far from done.

On this week's "Recruiting with Andrew Nemec" on 1080 The FAN, I was joined by 247Sports national recruiting editor Brandon Huffman to discuss Oregon's hot streak and whether or not the Ducks could finish with a top-5 class.

The answer? Absolutely.

Dan Lanning's program has developed a strong approach in the NIL era, targeting key players and positions while also remaining flexible enough to pursue top talents that crop up.

Oregon remains in the mix for a number of five-star recruits and, despite having zero five-star prospects committed currently, may end up tying or breaking its record of three in one class.

Huffman discussed Oregon's chances with Mater Dei (California) five-star duo brandon Baker and Aydin Breland, Salpointe Catholic (Arizona) five-star edge-rusher Elijah Rushing and more.
