Jerrick Gibson, nation's No. 2 running back, visiting Georgia Bulldogs this weekend

IMG Academy (Florida) running back Jerrick Gibson is set to arrive in Athens this weekend

The Georgia Bulldogs are hosting an impressive collection of visitors this weekend, highlighted by three of the nation's top five prospects - five-star pledges Dylan Raiola and Ellis Robinson IV and Lee's Summit North (Missouri) defensive lineman Williams Nwaneri.

Not far behind that trio is IMG Academy (Florida) star Jerrick Gibson, the nation's No. 2 running back and No. 43 overall prospect, who is set to arrive in Athens for his first official visit of the summer.

"I love the program and I'm looking forward to the official visit," Gibson said.

The 5-foot-10, 205-pound ball-carrier has four June official visits set with Georgia being the first, followed by Miami (June 9), Tennessee (June 16) and Texas (June 24).

While Gibson has stopped short of naming a leader, he is believed to be a Texas lean.

Could Georgia change that with a big weekend visit?

Bulldogs fans will find out soon.

So far, Georgia's 2024 recruiting class is ranked No. 1 nationally and and features one running back - Pebblebrook (Georgia) star Dwight Phillips Jr., the nation's No. 7 ball-carrier.

A one-two punch of Gibson and Phillips Jr. would be a dream scenario for Kirby Smart's program, but there's still plenty of work to do to make it a reality.
