Georgia Bulldogs hosting massive official visit weekend, featuring 4 5-star recruits

The Georgia Bulldogs have the nation's No. 1 recruiting class and are showing no signs of slowing down.

In fact, Kirby Smart's program will be hosting the country's most impressive list of official visitors this weekend, highlighted by a trio of in-state five-star recruits. 

Here's a look at the top prospects expected to be in Athens:

TARGETS

5-star safety K.J. Bolden (Buford; Georgia) - K.J. Bolden is the nation's No. 1 safety prospect and is rated as highly as the nation's No. 5 overall recruit. 

The 6-foot, 185-pound defensive back seemingly holds offers from every major college football program in the country.

So far, Bolden has scheduled official visits to Clemson (June 2), Georgia (June 9), Ohio State (June 16), Alabama (June 23) and Auburn (September 29).

Still, the Bulldogs are in good shape in his one and are a massive threat.

5-star wide receiver Mike Matthews (Parkview; Georgia) - ESPN and Rivals both consider Matthews to be the nation's No. 1 wide receiver, while On3 (No. 5) and 247Sports (No. 7) have him slightly lower of their lists.

Still, he is universally regarded as a top-25 prospect nationally following a stellar junior season in which he hauled in 48 receptions for 1,031 yards (21.5 yards per catch) and 10 touchdowns.

Matthews has June official visits set for Clemson, Georgia, Tennessee and USC, which should provide a much clearer picture of his recruitment going forward.

5-star DL Eddrick Houston (Buford; Georgia) - Rivals is highest on Houston, listing him as the nation's No. 4 overall prospect, while the other sites list him in the 25-50 range.

The 6-foot-3, 255-pound defensive end is visiting USC, Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and Ohio State during his official visit schedule before likely making a late summer commitment. 

5-star DL Jordan Ross (Vestavia Hills; Alabama) - Rated the nation's No. 12 overall prospect and No. 2 edge by 247Sports, Jordan Ross is yet another monster recruit slated to be in Athens this weekend.

The 6-foot-5, 220-pound pass-rush specialist is visiting Florida, Georgia, Texas and Tennessee this month. 

4-star DL Jordan Thomas (Don Bosco Prep; New Jersey) - The nation's No. 14 defensive lineman has a busy month ahead.

He's already visited Rutgers, and still has trips to Georgia, Michigan and South Carolina on the schedule.

Thomas has announced a top 12, and is likely to make a significant cut soon. 

4-star RB Chauncey Bowens (The Benjamin School; Florida); Committed to Florida - Chauncey Bowens is slated to take his official visit to Florida next week, so Georgia will get its best shot to flip him this weekend. 

The 5-foot-11, 220-pound ball-carrier is rated as highly as the nation's No. 10 running back by On3. 

So far, Georgia has a commitment from just one running back in the 2024 class, Pebblebrook (Georgia) star Dwight Phillips Jr., the nation's No. 7 ball-carrier.

Based on the way Smart and his staff have recruited these past several months, however, Georgia is looking to add a 1-2 punch in 2024.

4-star OL Fletcher Westphal (Tuscarora; Virginia) - A monster 6-foot-8, 305-pound offensive tackle, Fletcher Westphal sits just outside the nation's top-200 prospects according to recruiting services.

Clearly, college football coaching staffs disagree, as he more than 30 offers, highlighted by Arkansas, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Oregon, Penn State and many others.

4-star OL Ethan Calloway (Lake Norman; North Carolina) -  Yet another massive offensive lineman, Ethan Calloway tips the scales at 6-foot-7, 300-pounds.

Calloway has scheduled official visits to Florida, Georgia, LSU and Penn State for the month of June. 

COMMITS - Currently committed recruits stepping on campus may not be the most exciting element of a big recruiting weekend for the fans, but often they are essential to successfully landing new targets.

4-star S Jaylen Heyward (Rockledge; Florida); Committed to Georgia - The nation's No. 3 safety chose Georgia over Florida, Florida State, Miami and many others.

Georgia is loaded at the safety position going forward, and it may be that something has to give. 

Heyward is unlikely to be the piece that moves, as he's the highest-rated of the pledges and seems locked in with his decision. 

4-star QB Ryan Puglisi (Avon Old Farms; Connecticut); Committed to Georgia - Georgia secured a pair of big-time quarterbacks this cycle.

While Pinnacle (Arizona) five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola, the nation's No. 1 overall prospect, stole a lot of the headlines (and for good reason), Ryan Puglisi is a major talent in his own right. 

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound passer also held offers from Alabama, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State and others.

4-star TE Jaden Reddell (Raymore-Peculiar; Missouri); Committed to Georgia - A recent addition to Georgia's class, Jaden Reddell joins a program that has been churning out elite jumbo pass-catchers in recent years.

It's a safe bet that if Georgia likes him, he's got Sunday potential. 

Reddell is rated the nation's No. 1 tight end nationally by On3 and No. 4 by 247Sports. 

4-star WR NiTareon Tuggle (IMG Academy; Florida); Committed to Georgia - Originally from South Bend, Indiana, the IMG Academy star is rated as highly as the nation's No. 13 wide receiver by 247Sports.

The athletic 6-foot-1, 190-pound pass-catcher accumulated 30 scholarship offers during the recruiting process.

So far, his lone official visit is his trip to Athens. 

3-star OL Malachi Tolliver (Cartersville; Georgia); Committed to Georgia - A consensus three-star recruit, Malachi Tolliver is an in-state addition for Georgia.

He committed to the Bulldogs over Auburn, Louisville, South Carolina and others.
