Prediction: Nebraska Cornhuskers set to add record-setting wide receiver

Could Nebraska re-connect a Bellevue West (Nebraska) dynamic duo?

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have a top-25 recruiting class in the 2024 cycle, and appear to be poised to add to their haul.

When exactly?

That should come to light soon.

Prediction: Isaiah McMorris to Nebraska Cornhuskers

For the past several months, Bellevue West (Nebraska) three-star wide receiver Isaiah McMorris has been a key target for the Cornhuskers.

This spring, it became clear the 6-foot, 170-pound pass-catcher was high on Nebraska and he didn't shy away from that speculation.

"What stands out about Nebraska is the entire coaching staff," McMorris told SBLive Sports. "They're bringing a different type of energy to the program that is needed to get back to winning. That’s what I love about them."

Still, the in-state talent wanted to go through the recruiting process and scheduled unofficial visits to several programs, including Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas State, Minnesota and others.

During that time, Nebraska lost out on the battle for Pinnacle (Arizona) five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola, the nation's No. 1 overall prospect.

Shortly thereafter, coach Matt Rhule and his coaching staff pivoted to a teammate of McMorris, Elite 11 finalist Daniel Kaelin, who quickly flipped his commitment from Missouri.

With his quarterback in the fold and an organic growing interest, it began to feel like McMorris was a lock to become a Cornhusker.

This week, he tweeted that he has a "big announcement coming soon," ahead of his lone official visit - a trip to Nebraska.

All signs point to McMorris joining Kaelin, his quarterback, and locking in his future in Lincoln.

What would Nebraska be getting?

An historic Nebraska high school connection in Kaelin-McMorris.

As a junior, McMorris hauled in a state record 90 receptions for 1,297 yards and 15 touchdowns, earning first-team all-state honors in the process.

Getting Kaelin a familiar face in the receiver corps could be great for the young signal-caller, and also provide a boost to the receiver room.

Expect yet another quality commitment for Nebraska soon.
