Nebraska Cornhuskers complete Bellevue West trio, secure 2 key wide receiver commitments

Nebraska landed two of the top in-state recruits in the class of 2024 Friday morning

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have been crushing in-state recruiting during the early portion of the Matt Rhule era.

After securing the commitment of Lincoln East athlete Malachi Coleman, a top-75 prospect nationally, to cap the 2023 cycle, he and his coaching staff at it again in 2024.

Nebraska entered the week with Bellevue West quarterback Daniel Kaelin, an Elite 11 finalist, already in the fold.

On Friday, the Cornhuskers added his two primary wide receivers, as well as the state's No. 2 and No. 3 prospects, in wide receiver duo Dae'vonn Hall and Isaiah McMorris:

No one was happier about that haul than Kaelin.

"It means a lot to me, for sure," he said. "We already have a great connection and it will only flourish even more in Lincoln."

Nebraska's in-state efforts began in earnest after missing out on Buford (Georgia) five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola, the nation's No. 1 overall prospect.

Rhule and his coaching staff quickly pivoted to Kaelin, then a Missouri commit, and lured him away from the Tigers.

From there, Nebraska worked to complete the trio.

Hall, a four-star recruit, is rated the nation's No. 375 overall prospect and No. 57 wide receiver, while McMorris is rated the nation's No. 508 overall prospect and No. 72 pass-catcher.

The Bellevue West trio, alone, gives Nebraska the No. 2-4 in-state recruits in 2024, leaving only Ainsworth star Carter Nelson remaining to complete the sweep.

Rated the nation's No. 40 overall prospect and No. 2 tight end, Nelson is taking an official visit to Lincoln this weekend, and will be joined by the Bellevue West trio and five other Cornhuskers pledges.

Could Rhule pull off the crucial in-state clean sweep?

This weekend could be massive when it comes to landing Carter.

But Nebraska took a massive step forward in that endeavor Friday morning by securing the Bellevue West receiving duo.
