Noah Carter, Arizona 4-star edge-rusher, commits to Washington Huskies; Hot streak continues

Washington adds yet another commitment

The Washington Huskies took some heat in recent weeks for having just one verbal commitment in the class of 2024.

But much of that criticism was overblown, as Kalen DeBoer and his coaching staff backloaded their official visit schedule in month of June with several high-level targets.

That planning is finally coming to fruition, as Washington is quickly nearing double-digit pledges.

The latest came Monday afternoon, as Centennial (Arizona) four-star edge-rusher Noah Carter chose Washington over Louisville and several others.

“A big part of my decision was that the AZ [Arizona] connection is very deep out there - a lot of kids from my high school and Arizona in general," he said."Another thing is they are a family out there. Third was the great city of Seattle. It’s beautiful with a lot of opportunities.”

Carter is rated the nation's No. 211 overall prospect and No. 18 edge-rusher and will play an outside linebacker role in Seattle.

For the dynamic Arizona defender, last weekend's official visit proved to be the difference.

Prior to the trip, he had serious thoughts about a cross-country commitment to Louisville.

“I definitely had my eyes opened," Carter said. "I loved Louisville when I went there, but just seeing the city of Seattle was great to see. I definitely think all the kids that were there loved it up there. It’s a great culture. Everybody wants to go there now.”

Indeed, Washington has picked up six new commitments in the past 48 hours, and multiple pledges have hinted that there are still more ready to be announced.
