Oregon HS football: 2024 class slipping, but young prospects on the rise
It's been an interesting spring and summer evaluation period in the state of Oregon.
The class of 2024 was once projected to have a pair of top-100 prospects at the tight end position, but the upper-tier of the 2024 class has slid back down to three-star status.
In fact, according to 247Sports (invests the most resources in Oregon evaluations), none of the Oregon prospects are even particularly close to four-star status.
That matches my evaluations dating back to the end of last season.
Still, there's reason for optimism locally.
West Linn and Central Catholic might both have a case to be ranked nationally this fall, which would be a first for the state of Oregon.
Furthermore, several young prospects solidified themselves as intriguing players to watch.
On "Recruiting with Andrew Nemec" on ESPN-affiliate 1080 The FAN, PrepRedzone's Jordan Johnson joined the show to discuss the trends within the state and name a few of his prospects who are on the rise.
Unsurprisingly, that list included several players from West Linn, but Baker's Rasean Jones, Central's Gabriel Haines and a few others also drew praise:
