Justin Williams commitment: Will it be Georgia or Oregon? Where to watch

Monday is decision day for Oak Ridge (Texas) consensus five-star linebacker Justin Williams.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound athlete is rated the nation's No. 9 overall prospect and No. 1 linebacker after posting 105 tackles, 18 tackles-for-loss and 8.5 sacks during his junior season.

Now, he's down to a final two of Georgia and Oregon.

Williams will announce his commitment on On3's YouTube channel (here) at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET.

So, where is he headed?

Georgia, which already boasts the nation's No. 1 recruiting class, is considered the favorite, but Oregon is lurking. 

On3 gives Georgia an 86.9 percent chance of landing the talented 'backer with Oregon trailing at just 11.4 percent.

Similarly, all three "crystal ball" predictions on 247Sports are in Georgia's favor. 

The Ducks have pulled off a few surprises in the NIL era and should never be counted out, but the Bulldogs seem to be top dawgs heading into the announcement.

If, in fact, Williams does choose Georgia he will be the sixth top-40 pledge and third No. 1 player at his position in its class, joining headliners Buford (Georgia) star Dylan Raiola, the nation's No. 1 quarterback, and IMG Academy (Florida) playmaker Ellis Robinson IV, the nation's No. 1 cornerback.

Adding a fourth and fifth may not be far away either, as Georgia is viewed as the favorite for Mater Dei (California) five-star running back Nathaniel Frazier, the country's top ball-carrier, and Buford (Georgia) safety K.J. Bolden, who will announce his decision August 5. 

First things first, however, Georgia needs to solidify its lead with Williams and make it official Monday evening.

If Williams makes a surprise commitment to Oregon, he will be the first five-star pledge in its class and the second in the Pac-12 Conference in the 2024 recruiting cycle (Salpointe Catholic edge-rusher Elijah Rushing, Arizona).

He would also be the third elite linebacker pledge for the Ducks since the class of 2020, joining Justin Flowe and Noah Sewell.
