Prediction: Oregon State Beavers to land key in-state linebacker

Oregon State appears poised to add a key in-state target soon

The Oregon State Beavers 2024 recruiting class consists of 12 pledges from all over the United States - Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, New Hampshire, Texas and Washington.

But entering the weekend, Jonathan Smith's program had yet to land an in-state target, a statistical oddity given the program's investment in local recruiting.

However, that factoid is unlikely to last much longer.

Oregon State is considered the heavy favorite to land North Medford three-star offensive lineman Terrell Kim, and also appears to be poised to make another big splash soon.

Prediction: Dexter Foster to Oregon State Beavers

Former Roosevelt standout turned Central Catholic linebacker Dexter Foster has had a stellar spring and summer on the camp circuit, earning offers from Montana State and Oregon State and drawing interest from several Pac-12 programs.

The versatile 6-foot-4, 200-pound athlete took an official visit to Corvallis in June and the Beavers immediately established themselves as the team to beat in his recruitment.

There have been rumblings for some time that Foster wanted to end his recruitment sooner rather than later and it seems a decision could be coming imminently.

While Foster has yet to formally set a date, expect an Oregon State commitment any time.

The Central Catholic star is rated a three-star prospect, the nation's No. 158 linebacker and No. 12 player in Oregon, but he was hidden a bit in the struggling Portland Interscholastic League last fall and could thrive at a powerhouse program as a senior.
