How to watch: Brayden Platt set to choose Oregon Ducks or Oklahoma Sooners on Monday

Yelm (Washington) four-star linebacker Brayden Platt is set to announce his college commitment Monday

UPDATE >>> Brayden Platt commits to Oregon, discusses decision (w/ video)

It's decision day for Yelm (Washington) four-star linebacker Brayden Platt.

On Monday at 5:30 p.m. PT/8:30 p.m. ET, the nation's No. 72 overall prospect and No. 8 linebacker will announce his college commitment between the Oklahoma Sooners and Oregon Ducks.

Watch it here:

The 6-foot-2, 240-pound athlete is also an elite track and field star, having won a national championship in the javelin this spring (228-0.5) while finishing second in the hammer throw (174-4.25) and fourth in the shot put (64-0).

To put his javelin mark into perspective, Platt would've finished 10th at the NCAA championships this year with his throw.

The Washington product intends to do both at the collegiate level and has dreams of competing in the NFL and the Olympics during his athletic career.

Here's what 247Sports had to say about Platt as a prospect:

"Platt is arguably the top two-way prospect in the state of Washington and he's also one of the top two-sport athletes in the state, a state champion thrower and a Top 100 player nationally in the 2024 class. Platt is the workhorse back for the Tornadoes while also being the anchor of their defense and it's easy to see why he's one of the top pure football players in the West in the 2024 class. He can run, he can hit, he can catch, he can tackle, he can pretty much do it all. The All-American Bowl selection is a stifling run stopper, if he gets his hands on the back, the back is done running. He doesn't lose many battles against offensive linemen- he shoots the gaps, gets underneath them or sheds his block and stops the runner in his tracks. While his future is certainly on defense, you can see what a weapon he is out of the backfield."

Heading into his decision, Oregon is considered the overwhelming favorite to secure his commitment.

Dan Lanning has made Platt a massive priority in the 2024 recruiting cycle and the Ducks have built a strong pipeline to the state of Washington, highlighted by the recent additions of Rainier Beach five-star offensive tackle Josh Conerly Jr. (2022), Lake Stevens All-American running back Jayden Limar (2023) and Evergreen four-star offensive tackle Fox Crader (2024).

Recently SBLive Sports Washington regional editor Todd Milles broke down Platt's heavy interest in Oregon:

Overall, Oregon's recruiting class is ranked No. 14 nationally, but would move up to No. 11 with the addition of Platt, leapfrogging Auburn, Notre Dame and Oklahoma.
