Taz Williams Jr., elite Texas wide receiver, 'very serious' about Colorado Buffaloes following visit

Red Oak (Texas) four-star wide receiver Taz Williams Jr. had high praise for his visit to Colorado

Red Oak (Texas) four-star wide receiver Taz Williams Jr. is one of the nation's most coveted pass-catchers in the class of 2025.

The 6-foot, 181-pound playmaker holds more than 40 scholarship offers from some of the nation's top programs - Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Texas and many others.

This past weekend, Williams took an unofficial visit to Boulder to check out the Colorado Buffaloes.

The trip more than lived up to the hype.

Following his visit, Williams said he is "very serious" about Colorado.

"I will be going back," he said.

So, what stood out this time around?

Pretty much everything by the way Williams described it.

"The atmosphere, the high-tempo offense, the fans are loyal and happy to have the attention," he said. "The vibes were so positive, win or lose. Coach Prime [Deion Sanders] and his staff really coach (the players) hard and hold everyone accountable for their performance. They also play a lot of their talent."

Colorado has been the most-watched college football program in the country this fall, and may of the nation's top recruits have spent a weekend in Boulder to see if the substance matches the hype.

While the Buffaloes (3-2, 0-2) currently have some work to do bolstering their roster, particularly in the trenches, Sanders' quick turnaround of the program is rooted in his ability to upgrade the roster.

Getting Williams would be another significant step in the right direction.
